ISA Has Begun Wellness Checks at Area Hotels

Volunteers with the Immigrant Support Alliance have begun conducting wellness checks on clients temporarily housed in area hotels through Catholic Charities (CCAB). Clients are in hotels in Burlington, Peabody, and Saugus. We originally had up to 10 client groups across the locations, but CCAB has been able to find long term housing for many of the clients. Currently there remain one family in Burlington, two families in Peabody, and an individual in Saugus who will be moving to an apartment shortly. The volunteers are providing friendship, rides to the market, and clothing, cookware, and other basic needs to the clients. All children are enrolled in area schools. Some of the clients face challenging realities to find affordable housing, and government funding has been cut off to resettlement agencies like CCAB. The ISA will do what it can to help these families, and our presence is very much appreciated by the clients who are otherwise isolated in the hotels.
